No. Training is how you get in shape. We meet you where you are and build from there.
Most adults train with 14–16 oz gloves. Proper fit and wrist support matter more than brand. Coaches can help you choose the correct size.
We recommend 180-inch semi-elastic (Mexican-style) hand wraps for proper wrist and knuckle protection.
Hand soreness is usually caused by:
• Improper wrapping
• Gloves that are too small
• Incorrect punching mechanics
• New impact stress for beginners
Coaches teach proper technique and wrapping to reduce soreness and prevent injury.
No — not when trained correctly. Proper wraps, gloves, and coaching protect the hands and wrists. Poor form causes pain; good coaching prevents it.

Boxing shoes are ideal but not required for beginners. Flat, supportive athletic shoes are acceptable. Avoid thick-soled running shoes.
No. Members may not spar independently, casually, or during regular classes — even if both participants agree.
Unauthorized sparring may result in immediate removal from the floor, suspension, or termination of membership.
Yes. Youth programs are non-contact and age-appropriate, focusing on discipline, coordination, confidence, and fitness.
Typically ages 8–17, depending on maturity and coach evaluation.
No. Proper boxing instruction teaches discipline, self-control, respect, and accountability.
Possibly. Competition is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and only after demonstrating discipline, readiness, and coach approval.
