Contact Us

Do I need boxing experience to join?

No. Most members start with no prior boxing experience. Classes are coached, structured, and scalable for beginners through advanced levels.

Do you offer a free first class?

Yes. Your first class is free so you can experience our coaching, structure, and culture before committing.

What should I bring to my first class?

• Comfortable athletic clothing

• Water bottle

• Boxing gloves (limited loaners available)

• Hand wraps (recommended; available for purchase)

Do I need to be “in shape” before starting?

No. Training is how you get in shape. We meet you where you are and build from there.

What size boxing gloves should I get?

Most adults train with 14–16 oz gloves. Proper fit and wrist support matter more than brand. Coaches can help you choose the correct size.

What kind of hand wraps do you recommend?

We recommend 180-inch semi-elastic (Mexican-style) hand wraps for proper wrist and knuckle protection.

Why do my hands feel sore after class?

Hand soreness is usually caused by:

• Improper wrapping

• Gloves that are too small

• Incorrect punching mechanics

• New impact stress for beginners

Coaches teach proper technique and wrapping to reduce soreness and prevent injury.

Will boxing damage my hands or wrists?

No — not when trained correctly. Proper wraps, gloves, and coaching protect the hands and wrists. Poor form causes pain; good coaching prevents it.

Can I lose weight with boxing?

Yes. Boxing is a high-intensity, full-body workout that burns calories, builds lean muscle, and improves conditioning. Weight loss depends on consistency, nutrition, and recovery.

How long before I see results?

Most members notice improvements in 2–4 weeks, including better stamina, coordination, and strength. Visible body changes typically occur within 4–8 weeks.

How often should I train?

• Beginners: 2–3 times per week

• Intermediate: 3–4 times per week

• Advanced: 4–5 times per week

Consistency matters more than intensity.

Is boxing good for women?

Yes. Boxing builds strength, confidence, coordination, and empowerment. Many women train with us for fitness, stress relief, and skill development.

What shoes are best for boxing?

Boxing shoes are ideal but not required for beginners. Flat, supportive athletic shoes are acceptable. Avoid thick-soled running shoes.

Can members spar on their own or during regular classes?

No. Members may not spar independently, casually, or during regular classes — even if both participants agree.

What happens if someone spars without permission?

Unauthorized sparring may result in immediate removal from the floor, suspension, or termination of membership.

Is your youth program safe?

Yes. Youth programs are non-contact and age-appropriate, focusing on discipline, coordination, confidence, and fitness.

What ages do you accept for youth boxing?

Typically ages 8–17, depending on maturity and coach evaluation.

Does boxing make kids aggressive?

No. Proper boxing instruction teaches discipline, self-control, respect, and accountability.

Can teens eventually compete?

Possibly. Competition is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and only after demonstrating discipline, readiness, and coach approval.

What if I have previous injuries or limitations?

Let the coach know before class. Modifications can be made to accommodate injuries or physical limitations.

Is boxing safe for beginners?

Yes — when coached properly. Our programs emphasize technique, progression, and safety.

Do you offer boxing for Parkinson’s?

Yes. We offer adaptive, non-contact boxing programs designed to improve balance, coordination, and mobility.

Can boxing help with stress or anxiety?

Yes. Boxing is an effective outlet for stress relief, mental focus, emotional regulation, and confidence building.

What makes Champion Power Boxing different?

• Real boxing coaching

• Structured, skill-based programs

• Controlled and safe training environment

• No-ego culture

• Programs for adults, youth, and adaptive athletes

Is this a fitness class or a boxing gym?

We are a boxing gym with fitness benefits, not a cardio kickboxing studio.
